French pronouns are a common source of confusion for students so I’ll go over them – stay tuned! In this episode, I’ll explain the difference between the subject pronouns and the stress pronouns, which can be put more simply as the difference between using “je” and “moi”. Vocabulary and Spelling of the French Words mentioned in this episode
Subject pronouns: je, tu, il, elle, on, nous, vous, ils, elles
Stress pronouns : moi, toi, lui, elle, nous, vous, eux, elles
Moi aussi = me too
Et toi ? Et lui ? = And me ? And Him ?
C’est pour toi = it’s for you
Je vais chez moi = I’m going home
Marie et Jeanne parlent avec leurs amis = Marie and Jeanne are talking with their friends.
Elles parlent avec eux = They’re talking with them.
Le bébé est assis sur son papa = The baby is sitting on his dad(‘s lap)
Il est assis sur lui = He’s sitting on him
Pierre, c’est moi. Jean, c’est lui.
Moi, c’est Pierre. Lui, c’est Jean.
(Moi,) Je suis française et (vous,) vous êtes anglais= I’m French and you’re English
