Attendre un bébé = to expect a baby
s’attendre à qch = to expect, to plan
Je ne m’attendais pas à une telle surprise! = I wasn’t expecting such a surprise !
Comme on pouvait s’y attendre = as expected
ne rien perdre pour attendre = to get what you deserve
Toi, tu ne perds rien pour attendre ! = Just you wait!
Sans plus attendre = without further delay, without further ado
Aller à l’école = to attend school
Aller à l’église / à la messe = to attend church / service / mass
assister à = to attend an event, to be present
assister à un match de foot = to attend a soccer game
assister à la naissance = to attend the birth
Combien d’invités seront présents? = How many guests will attend?
Vous attendez combien d’invités? = How many guests do you expect?
s’occuper de = to attend to something, to take care of
Veuillez m’excuser pendant que je m’occupe d’une affaire.= Please excuse me while I attend to a business matter.
